The past couple of weeks have been a test of how much patience any person could have. I'm not sure if it is because Michelle hasn't been well or because their schedule hasn't been the same but the kids have been difficult. Maybe they are just making another social step forward and trying to test the boundries.

As always it's tough but fun...

Christmas was a lot of fun this year. The kids got so many new things to play with. Their favorite (and mine)? Little Tykes Jumper! It barely fits in their playroom blown up. We have to take out all of the toys to get it in there but it is so worth it. They love to jump!

This should be part of the triplet take home package... Here's your instruction manual (still waiting on mine), your tickets to stay at home for the next forever and your jumper. The kids can spend fifteen minutes in there and bed time becomes easier.

It's strange that my kids do things all the time that move me but as you can tell by the number of times this blog is updated ... I am rarely if ever moved to write. It took

THIS (take a minute now and go read it - a couple of minutes that will rearrange your view of what's really important) to do it today and you should enjoy this because it may be a long time before I feel moved again.

I find myself answering questions about the kids in waves. To be honest, I really could have done without the certain amount celebrity that goes along with raising triplets. I don't mind it but I rarely get trough the day without answering a question about how they are.

The waves are more like the generalities that acquaintances get. Really, when you ask me "how are the kids?” you really don't want me to whip out their medical charts and give you the rundown. Right? So I usually pick a topic and I stick to that for a week or two. It just makes it easier and (at least I think) it makes a more concise, in passing, friendly conversation. BUT that’s just not how it is.

Poop and pee and potties - or blech. We are, have been and will continue to be 'potty training'. It gets quotes because although we are serious about it - it's just hard and we (meaning me) don't dedicate as much time as we (meaning me again) should. I'm going to go ahead and point out to the singleton raisers out there that similar to feeding three babies, taking three to the potty isn't one trip that accomplishes required goal in set amount of time -or- just like there are three mouths to feed, there are three butts to sit. Michelle is a super woman and the kids are doing well and making a lot of progress. She just spends 3/4 of the day with everyone taking turns on the 'big' potty (little potties are a thing of the past), washing hands and occasionally changing clothes because water is just a lot of fun when it comes out of the faucet - really a lot of fun.

I miss a lot of this while I am at work but I get to see it in the evening. A regular bed time with potty, bath, potty, hands, jammys, snack, teeth, hands again (remember water is FUN), story, prayer, four songs takes a couple of hours or more. You may be asking yourself why four songs. It's simple; because everybody gets to pick one of the four songs we sing and it's not fair to give the last kid no choice in what he/she wants to hear. After all of that, it’s hard to decide if I want to fall in bed or catch up on some TV. Thank goodness for the DVR.

One day they are going to wander off to bed and do all of this stuff by their self and I'm sure going to miss all of it, although some nights it takes a lot of convincing to get me to believe that.

The good news is that we now go through about three rolls of toilet paper a day so when they get completely out of pull ups I can just convert that money over to investing in forestry because at this rate we're going to take out the rain forest just after the first of the year.

Do you see why I talk in waves? This is just a fraction of what we do.

From the last post: We did the race for the cure. It was a GREAT! Despite practicing racing down the hall for two days ahead of time, the kids didn't do so well in the 50 yard dash and there really aren't any pictures of how we looked. You see, I had Tabby in my arms and Chloe by the hand. Michelle was carrying PJ and dragging the wagon. I guess I should have passed the camera off to my parents but that would have required foresight and I'm really only good at hindsight. Michelle and I did the 5k run/walk. Can you guess what we did? I towed the wagon with the three kids and an ice chest that was full of goodies to keep the kids happy. We should have just brought them squirt guns because once they figured out stuff came out when they squeezed their water bottles, it was all over.

We cooled off a few race participants along the way and finished much better than where we started from. We moved from dead last to somewhere in the middle of the slow people. I am excited to say this wont be our last Race for the Cure and I think we might find some time to walk in a few more 5k races.

We have so many fun things coming up. The Revel starts this weekend. The Church’s neighborhood block party is coming up, then Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Birthday right after that. I just hope we figure out a way to slow down and take it all in. I don't want to race to the finish line of this year and look back only to see the things I missed while I was watching the sky.
